Online project for schoolchildren of Poltava region launched: scientists talk about energy saving in everyday life

As part of the implementation of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet program "The challenges of energy efficiency: cooperation of Ukraine with the EU", teachers of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" started a winter series of study visits "ENERGY EFFICIENCY – FROM DREAM TO REAL DEEDS" in schools of the Poltava region and spoke about the advantages of using alternative energy sources in everyday life.

During December 1-2, 2020, research and teaching staff and representatives of the Council of young scientists of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" organized and held online meetings with schoolchildren, teachers, representatives of territorial communities, civil administrations of the Poltava region.

In particular, the participants of the European project Jean Monnet "The challenges of energy efficiency: cooperation of Ukraine with the EU" paid training visits "ENERGY EFFICIENCY – FROM DREAM TO REAL DEEDS" to the hub school "Rudenky general secondary educational institution of levels I through III " of Rudenky local council in Novosanzharsky district and Kozelshchyna lyceum of Kozelshchyna village council of Poltava region.

Representatives of Poltava Polytechnic – PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of economics, entrepreneurship and marketing, Chairman of the Council of young scientists Kseniia Chichulina and PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of economics, entrepreneurship and marketing Volodymyr Byba highlighted important aspects of solving urgent problems of energy saving and energy efficiency.

Students and scientists discussed the economic attractiveness of the transition from traditional energy sources to alternative ones, determined the advantages of such a transition, analyzed the experience of the European Union countries in creating construction and industrial energy-efficient technologies, and solved crosswords on energy saving in everyday life and industry.

"Our university has been implementing the European energy efficiency program for a long period of time and providing high-quality training of energy audit specialists. Therefore, Poltava Polytechnic does not stay away from international initiatives and conducts scientific and educational events aimed at better informing the Ukrainian society about energy saving methods and the latest energy-efficient technologies in construction and Industry, existing renewable energy sources . These are thematic Conversations, student workshops, attracting scientists from leading Ukrainian and European universities to cooperate.

In the conditions of quarantine and lack of opportunities for offline communication, research and teaching staff of the Department of economics, entrepreneurship and marketing, young scientists of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" have planned to work with schoolchildren in the region and are implementing a system of measures "energy saving-from dreams to real steps". After all, energy saving is not just a solution to the economic problems of humanity, it is an opportunity to avoid global environmental disasters and cataclysms," said Kseniia Chichulina, moderator, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of economics, entrepreneurship and marketing, Chairman of the Council of young scientists.

Recall that in early the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" creatively celebrated the International Day of energy saving and held a student workshop "Instruments of energy efficiency evaluation: European practice". The research and teaching staff and the Council of young scientists of the Polytechnic invite students and students to discuss social, economic, environmental problems and implement new projects!
